i have just sourced some 40mm pitch brembos to fit to my 21 (£67delivered ) now what i need is the adapter so that i can fit them, now i know that Jamie sells them but they are rather exspensive and i thought i might see if there is anyone in the UK that does them first
anyone any ideas, or even better does anyone have a pair that i could borrow and get copied.
cheers _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

if you dont mind me asking which model Brembos do you have? if they are the cast old school duke ones you may find your stock ones are just as good, if you have the GP Billet (I do) welcome to a wondferfull club of late breaking. Dont forget you may wish for a better master cylinder now.
I to have seen the adaptors on Jamies sight and think they are good value, who else will make this kind of stuff for NSR's but the Japanese and to fit different size disks as well, If you get them made here to that quality you may be in for a shock on the price.
Good luck and enjoy that Italian feel _________________ Farting is funny
good question luke, and no i dont mind....all i know is that they have come off a 99 - 916.
my stock ones may stop me as well, but they are nowhere near as sexy, and i get posers points to _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

if your were going to upgrade the discs aswell ie nc30/35
ill get a set of mine copied for you at dbr if your brembos have the same mountings as mine _________________ Half the strokes, twice the fun
You might want to think about upgrading your engine, what with all that extra weight you'll be carrying
And by the time it's done Andy will have revamped posers world to count useful mods only (so, SP2 calipers on a '28 then?). Are you seriously implying a Ducati Monster has better brakes than a 'blade of the same era?
And clearly the correct way to mount the 40mm brembo's is on some RS forks
Steve may indeed be the saddest HRC jack monkey of them all but that's real HRC kit, not stuff that's fell of a steel framed diesel antique and his RC does go like nothing else I've ever ridden. 120 odd mph in first and at 8000ish revs the front just comes up, 2nd gear? Same same. He reckoned it'll pull near 200mph but I got scared at around 150mph over the Tamar Bridge _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

:
blah blah blah, YYYYAAAWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNN
if you read the above post you will see they are from a 98-99 916, which as i remember didnt do to badly at whooooping the RC45 for a number of years, until the SP1-2 so yes i would say they are better.
as for the weight when i come to fit them i will weigh both sets of calipers, maybe you will pull back some of the 5kg that your outdated swingarm adds to your bike
so all bow to the wisdom of Fontyyy, Nigel, luke, jamie wheeler you are all wrong and should refit your ugly little Nissin calipers again as Bremos are rubbish.
you are only jelous anyway _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

Wrong wrong wrong, the proarm itself weighs less than a '21 swing arm (Steve has weighed them both) which is clearly massively oversized for the bike, the vast majority of the extra weight has pretty much got to be in the pipes and cans and obviously a bit in the brakes, and it's only 4kg anyway.
My entire Tyga pipes and Ti cans all togeather weigh far less than one 28 pipe on it's own
Which is all near irrelevent anyway as this;
looks better and better every time I look at it and the subframe alone weighs more than 5kg more than the Tyga one I've got on now.
It's definately going back on over winter, wheather it stays on is another matter. Just need to get an undertray I can hack to bits, or even better a perfect one so I can hack some more off mine
I've not ridden a '21 properly so can't really comment on the brakes but the Nissin 4 pots on my '28 are just sooo good I can't really conceive wanting better.
But I would like to change the master cylinder as I can't get the lever any further round (lower) as it hits the forks. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Well at the risk of sending Monkey into a coma, I've fitted the capilers of an SP1/2 mated to a GSXR750 radial master cylinder and find it hard to hold on when braking.
I think the CBR/SP1/RC51 calipers are the way to go if you have an MC28 as they are cheap as chips and fit with no bother....might as well up grade the m/cylinder whilst your at it
The brakes are now so good that I found the back end would easily lift off the ground as the front starts to drift diving up the inside of Valentino......oh. no, no it wasn't, that was all a dream it was just me trying to race that courier this morning!
You're all barking up the wrong rubber plant. 2 strokes are for corner speed, and maintaining momentum. You shouldn't even be using the damn brakes! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Monkey are you still awake? Well I too think the Blade/SP-2 calipers would be a better option....
BUT
From memory I don't think they'll fit a 21 anyway, as dont the calipers not have a thread or the forks don't have a thread (one or the other) . _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
