Just bought a set of wheels for the mc18. A Magtek and an HRC RS. I'm really posting this to gloat about it, but can anyone describe the benefits they have experienced from this particular mod? _________________ stu
There are absolutely no benefits at all with YOUR particular bike... Especially with the RS wheel where you will now have to run a 160 section rear tyre!
Tell you what, sell me the RS wheel, as it's of no use to you what so ever, and I've got a nice shiny painted 17x4.5 wheel with a nearly new D208GP you can have instead... It's better I take it off your hands just to be sure! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
sh*t dude, guess you're right. How could I have been so foolish. Seduced by exotic alloys, gold paint and an HRC sticker. I feel so used.
Please, anyone out there relieve me of this dreadfull (and extremely lightweight) burden. _________________ stu
I'm afraid I have to agree with maxim, nsrbelfast has been a bit naughty and sold you a right pair of lemons!
In fact, he's diddled you so badly that I don't think I can offer anything except somewhere to quickly off-load the useless items and to never hear any more about the whole messy situation... until they're fitted to my bike, that is!!
Light weight, decreased gyroscopic effect, HRC stickers, and Poser Points... it's never worth it!! _________________ Andy.

You're both right. I have spent a small amount of money on an embarrassing white elephant. Upon reciept on said merchandise I vow to cut up said merchandise with an angle grinder and throw upon the fire to prevent anyone else going throught he traumer of owning such a rubbish set of wheels. _________________ stu
Cut the fucker up and put it in the fire. Be dashed your sinfull magnesium alloy, lightweight, gold painted rings of spinning rubber clad sex. Only hell and damnation lies down that road.
Do you really have a front to match my rear? Dirty boy. _________________ stu
ACTUALLY, there is no advantage of decreased gyroscopic effect when switching to the HRC wider rims. I had a set of Marchesini's for my 2000 RS that I compared to the alloy MC28 wheels just for kicks. The RS wheels with fairly worn race slicks mounted up weighed the exact same weight as my alloy NSR wheels with brand-new Dragon HR's on them. The wider (=heavier) tire size is the reason.
So really, the only advantage is the bling factor and the ability to run wider rubber/race slicks.
Now if you went from stock alloy to NSR mag wheels, there would be a tad gyroscopic advantage. _________________ Paul Herr
