RS125 help

Wed Dec 21, 2005 1:32 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

ok...
I have just got my Honda RS125 and i dun really want to mess anything up yet.

the premix ratio is suppose to be30:1.

so if i put in say 50ml of oil. then i have to put in (50*30)=1500ml of fuel right?

(30 parts of fuel to every 1 part of oil right?)

i know its newbie Embarassed

but i dun wanna blow stuff up yet! Smile

thanks

you might want to get yourself a ratio rite. it will make the premixing simple. you can get them at your local bike shop. and yes the 30:1 means 30 parts fuel to 1 part oil. hope that helps.

Premix

Wed Dec 21, 2005 3:02 pm » Post: #4 » Download Post

I found it easier mixing 4 1/2 litres at a time, pouring in 150cc of oil (4500cc / 30:1 = 150cc)
As most mixing jugs are either 5 or 6 litres it made it easy.
Try and buy yourself a measuring tube/cup with small increments for the oil as the marking on most jugs are not accurate enough.
Don't forget to invest in a "weather station" as well for the jetting.

What year is the RS?

I'll have a moan about it first, then a whinge, then I'll start shouting. Wink

I have been known to be fairly patient before - not often though!! Smile

oh yeah....if you premix oil and fuel and you have like 4 litres left over...if you bottle it up is it gonna not be as good in say 3 months time?

That's how all they all start out! Trust me, it won't get missed - the guys here are too eagle-eyed.

I think a few here are interested in RS125's! Wink

I don't think keeping leftovers for a few months will hurt, just remember to shake the fuel before using it to re-mix it. Some of the oils will seperate from the fuel after time. Hope that helps.

Maybe I could've worded it a little better, but every Forum area has to start somewhere. It may "look" lost and forgotten now, but if you use it then it will become busier.

You'll see, this topic won't run here much longer! Wink
