G'Day all,
Finally found the problem, a totally blocked no.2 slow jet. The bike runs well now and is slightly rich (#42 slows, mains not readable) on a stock engine. Compression was 80psi front 85 rear, is this OK? I am considering changing to Unifilter oiled foam pods, are these OK and will my jetting need to be changed over the stock box and filter? lastly the wiring connecting to the Rc valve is unplugged due to u/s servo motor, will running the bike like this cause damage to the PGM unit.
Thanks for your time.
You didn't indicate which model you have, but for an MC21 at least, compression should be more in the 115-120 psi range. What procedure did you use for the compression test?

Hi Jim,
Bike was fully warmed up, throttle fully opened and kicked several times. 115-120 is optimal I guess but what would be the minimum before a ring change is needed?
thanks.
With the compression at 80 psi, jetting will hardly matter. Compression is a basic component of power. You'll be way ahead if you fix the top end, then worry about the jetting and other details.
For the road, the unipods will not give you the most ride-able power. You'd be better opening up the lid of the airbox and removing the internal webs with a stanley knife. _________________ MC21SP Plaything
