H.R.C. Box question.

Thu Jan 19, 2006 9:15 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all,

I`ve wired up my HRC box & it starts & runs fine.

Went through the motions of testing everything works & found it would stay running with the side stand still down when put into gear.
I`m not too fussed but I`m gonna` be taking it for an M.O.T. test & think it might get picked up on.

I checked all the wiring connections & continuity tested the switch & associated wiring, all seems ok. The side stand light comes on when it`s down also.

Just wondering if someone`s come across this before? Is it normal?

Thanks in advance

Roy.

Maybe that's why it says "NOT FOR HIGHWAY USE" on it?! Cool

So that`s what that means. Wink

I`ve not had the bike long & can`t remember if I checked this before I rewired it.

If I remember right it didn`t cut out before fitting the box.

I`m wondering if Japanese regs are the same as here about the function of this switch, can`t see the point of having a wire going to the PGM if it doesn`t do anything.

I guess I`m too lazy to put it back to standard & find out what happens Exclamation

I took my sidestand switch off when I raced mine, and it hasn't gone back on. Passed the MOT fine...

Ok, thanks,

I`ll just take it in & keep the bloke talking. Wink

I can rig it up to work if I need to I suppose.

Cheers

I Dont think that the side stand switch is part of the test Question

But if you take it to 'College Motorcycles' in Stockport im sure Eric ( he is a massive Trekkie so you could distract him by mentioning that Wink ) wont be bothered about it as he is pretty lenient on tests.

The sidestand switch is not part of the test which is lucky as plenty of bikes haven't got one Idea
