Just got a set of Tyga GP pipes for my MC21, could not pass-up the deal they had offered (free silencers & shipping) Sweet !!!!!
So I installed them and was very surpised how quit they are. I had stock jetting and the top cyclinder was lean. I had a JHA kit but being all stock airbox and oil pump nothing in the kit was low enough in jet size to start out. I installed the B needles, holders and needle jet, stock mains 128. After some tweeking & needle setting the bike never ran better. I have ordered some more jets as I have a Tyga modified air box lid and also a set of K&N to try-out. I'm so happy with my bike I can stop thinking about it and what a joy to ride, Feels like I can out ride any street bike on the twisties.
Just had to post because I'm so pumped !!! _________________
i was surprised at how quite my tygas are to
if you actually have k/n filters i was advised not to use em as the disturb the air flow (andy will discribe it better than me) i think the ones you need to use are the all foam type with out the metal parts
i have a modded lid
The race ones make 105db on the nose - spot on for the ACU race pipe limit. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

i have the titanium tyga silencers
and they dont sound like 105db to me when riding the bike they really are quiet maybe different if you are stood on the path
they arent as noisy as the tri oval yoshi system on me race bike
How much did you have to jet-up for the mod. box lid ?
The other set of pipes I had, was all I could hear when ridding, now I hear the motor and air intake. Don't get me wrong I like the sound of the Tyga pipes and they make much better power !
I'll just sell the K&N's if they aren't worth using.
Can you tell me is the front head mod worth it ? _________________
i have the pipes /modded airbox lid
wire splices
head conversion
hrc jet kit
tyga reeds / stuffers
NO port work has been done
the guys that prep my race bike are 2 stroke lovers so they do all my dyno work/jetting for free (top blokes) so dont know about the jetting
each part was put on then dynoed to see what gains were made i think the head added about 1/1.5 bhp i do have all the charts some where but cant find em
the bike is doing 61 bhp at the wheel
they are trying to reshape a spare set of throttle slides at the moment to gain some more midrange
The front head is worth it if you're racing and want every last ounce of power, but for the road not really - the plugs are damn expensive for a start!
My pipes sound awesome, the crackle you can hear through the chambers is pukka GP bike. (when they were proper GP bikes!)
That and the rort of the airbox is a heady noise mixture indeed...
Go on, tell 'em how good it sounded Monkey! _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Well I thought I had it set great, BUT, went on a cruise and a 5,000-5500 it bucks just cruising along in 3rd and 6k it smooths right out. I'm thinking I'm lean at that rpm ? Checked the plugs and they look good, not white at all, light brown too dark brown.
Any in-put ! _________________
Yeah, basically don't ride at those rpm - it's where the power valve is opening, and the carbuartion will never be spot on. Change gear... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Yeah, that's about the size of it. Those of us who can remeber the RD350 YPVS will recall the vibes and stuttering as it transitioned from low to high power - and then the glorious pull as it shot off into the distance!
It's all relative of course. The NSR would whoop it's ass now, and is a lot more refined to boot. Still, without the RD, the NSR would not exist I guess... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Hi flow reed blocks, carbon fiber reeds and mod box. #150 mains, bike is awsome and gotten really louder. Still don't like that low rpm thing though. Need to take it to someone with a dyno and see were I'm at. _________________
