DOes anyone have a wiring diagram for the CDI unit and the electrical resistance values. Bike just got a replacement CDI unit installed, ran for 15 seconds then died. Its a 90 MC21. Busting to ride this puppy.

No, I dobt they exist outside of Honda.

Sounds like you have powervalve motor issues. Did you buy the bike with a blown CDI or did it happen whilst you owned it?

The most common cause of a toast CDI is a siezure in the powervalve system which draws too much current from the CDI and burns out some transistors.

I'm in the process of acquiring a duff one to see if I can repair it - and it sounds like I can.

All may not be lost!

Hey Dave, actually bought the bike with the CDI blown (that's what the previous owner and the bike shop he had it repaired at had said). GOt a second hand CDI from New Zealand, had the bike running for 15 seconds then it died. My mate is working on it for me but hasn't really sussed it out yet (he works as a bike mechanic).

Check the RC servo before installing another PGM. If it is seized you'll just be waisting your money. I bougt one and the PGM would smoke in minutes once you turned on the ignition. RC servo was trying to go to start position but couldn't. New Servo and PGM and POW runs great.
