MC28 upper work on MC21?

Thu Feb 19, 2004 6:54 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Does anyone know if the MC28 upper is a direct bolt on for the MC21, or is it the case that some modification is needed, e.g., change fairing stay too? Thanks for any information.

Jim,

I attached an MC28 upper onto my MC21 with no issues. Even matched up to the lowers just fine.

Thanks,

Hi, I am a newbie. I am also planning to put a stock MC28 upper on my 1992 MC21. Do I also need to buy a new MC28 headlight too or the MC21 headlight will fit? I have also seen people putting the mC28 tail on a MC21. I think Charles did that but I realized 28 and 21 have different mounting points. Does that mean that people just change the subframe too?
Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

The headlights are the same. However, the wind screens are not.

As for the tail section. You can keep the same subframe, just need to make a couple little brackets that go from the lower subframe to frame mounts that allow you to attache the body to the bracket.

I know TYGA sends these brackets with their body work (if you ask for it), or you can just cut your own out of aluminum.

Thanks,
