Alright so i was going around 150km on an expressway in japan. Suddenly my engine cuts out my rear tire locks up, I'm swerving around the road trying to regain control, pulled in the clutch and savely stopped to a hault on the side of the expressway. What the hell is wrong with my NSR?
By the way i was pulling pretty hard on the bike throughout the trip on the expressway. My mechanic suggested i buy a new engine, but i aint got the cash or time for it right now.
Any suggestions as to whats wrong with my bike? Electrical seems to be working fine, it just wont start anymore...??
I'm clueless.. guess the NSR isnt a daily rider huh?
Using crap oil instead of the good fully-synthetic stuff?
They (2-strokes) only blow up if you (a) don't look after them, (b) don't set them up correctly, or (c) if they are a Suzuki! _________________ Andy.

BTW, it'll be a piece of cake to fix in Japan! Parts are cheap and readily available second-hand.
I would be shocked if you couldn't get a used barrel (providing it only a siezure) and rebuild it for any more than £100 (¥20,000). _________________ Andy.

yeah its basically stock except for mfactorywest silencers and the wiresplice(stock jetting). Been using Castol TTS oil. I think its because of the wiresplice (did it like a month ago)
So what should I be looking to fix? Oh by the way the bike has about 19,768 clicks. I called JHA about a rebuild and they said they charge around $3000-4000!! Theres no way i can pay for that and that seems like a rip off to me. Thats like worth more than the bike itself..
Found the barrels, what else will i need?
Forgot to mention, after it seized, I tried to start it again, and it did but the top cyclinder wasnt firing and so it wouldnt idle.
Do i need to rebuild the top end or get some used barrels from yahoo?? _________________ 93' MC21

Above is best case scenario - the crank may be screwed!! (I can't quite see into the cases from here! Maybe if you park the bike facing the other way I can diagnose it!!!) _________________ Andy.

It's not an inconvenience, but until you at least pull the pipes off and have a look up its chuff, you won't have any idea where to start.
If you are really really lucky, maybe it's something really silly like a broken coil or dead plug! There's just not much anyone can do from behind a screen.
It sounds like a seize though, and on a stock bike that's usually down to poor maintenance I'm afraid. _________________ Andy.
