after cleaning out my chambers fully on my nsr
it ruined the coating over them
so i got the electroplaters to coat them
gold-preservate (or something similar to the name)

its heat resistant and very rust-proff,
it will fade with age as expected, and the heat makes the color
turn a brown-brone type color near the headers aparently

wat you guys think????

Looks like a type of zink plating, though plating isn't really my thing.

It does tend to dull and if you polish it to much with metal cleaners will rub back though to bare metal. Would of looked good in clear zink, not tooo convinced about that colour but its a whole lot better than rust!

I'm with you Steve. Looks like zinc plating.

I got my CR500 Pro Circuit pipe nickel plated and was reasonably happy with the result. Looks kinda clean and tidy without be too Harley Davidson. Some spots starting to show through now, but it's lasted 2 years and seeing as I blagged the plating as a sample I've got no complaints

yeh its got a zinc base,
although u cant polish it as its a engineers finish they use on bolts,
and yes it does fade, well i like it and so do alot of others so im happy

i ve got a set of pipes with a similar coating thats been done a couple of years and no signs of rust

I own this bike now and the coating 'went off' and looked very poor including rust etc. Nice and matt black now....

Just got the Harc Pro pipes back from the polisher but not keen to cut up the bodywork...

You might be able to space the lower fairing out alittle between the join to clear the pipe.

It would be a shame to have to cut OE body work.

I agree so I'm torn at the moment, Thinking I'll fit the new reed blocks, fly wheel (fitted), airbox lid, mufflers (tyga fitted) and rejet and see what I get first.

The stock body work is MINT and I just can't bring myself to cut them. I have another set of lowers (not repsol) but they never look right (ie perfect!) no matter how good a painter you can find.

Spacing them will seperate them under the bike which seems weak at best and just won't look right.

I have a new blade arriving soon so total power output on the NSR is not really a priority....
