Close to the pipes?! I've got a 165 on the rear of mine and there is plenty of clearance to the exhausts... Have you got a pic you could post?

Any opportunity A'Lee! Laughing

So what does an RS/TZ use eh? Hmm, 120 front, 165 rear... Wink Plus, brand new 106/108 slicks for £40 was a bargain I couldn't miss!

160/60/17 tire

Fri Apr 27, 2007 3:09 pm » Post: #6 » Download Post

ruffrider,

I currently run a 150/60 (stock size) on my MC21R Trackbike, however, when running my slicks 160/63/17 I have to add @ least 2 links to my RK Gold 520 chain, this needs to be done to allow rear wheel clearance from my right side chamber. It will change the geometry(longer wheelbase) and will compromise handling but give better stability in turns. my .02

Just undo the offending pipe, rotate the header sleeve a bit and you can make loads more room....

My bleedin` brand new Tygas` scraped on the track at Llandow on the right hand side. I jiggled the 300 stubs to get clearance from the swinging arm. No problems with tyre clearance. I`m running standard size tyres though.

I'd say...stock tyre size150/60/17 has the best performance....
