Hi
I have just made a set of revised rear shock linkage plates reproduced from the MC18 HRC Formula 3 from the technical section, and installed them on my MC18. It has raised it up the rear a fair bit and the suspension is somewhat stiffer. I have tried but failed to attach a photo just to check that I have got them on the correct way.I have the long edge with the 70mm centres on the frame link and swing arm with the pointy end of the plate facing down . Please can you tell me if they are wrong .Thanks[/img]
Thanks for the reply,I've just been out for a ride ,I tweaked the preload on the front to sort of match the rear . It went great ,a bit bumpy on the back roads but was very stable on the local roundabouts ,now I've just got to get used to it before Brands on Wednesday.
Hi
Just to let you know it handled great at Brands, I would recomend this cheap suspension mod to transform the MC18 as it stiffens the rear and gives you over an inch and a half ground clearance ,just brilliant !
It does really help an '18 doesnt it. I made a set up for mine quiet a few years ago and then added the F3 shock with another 14mm of ride it.
When Wayne sat his '18 next to mine he was more than a little shocked how different they looked. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
They only made them for the '18. I dont think the '21/'28 suffer the same way as a stock '18. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Hi
Thanks for the replies.Just one more question if I may, would fitting a CBR600 shock to get rebound adjustment be OK now I've fitted the linkage or would it be too stiff ? Cheers
It all depends how the CBR shock is set up. If the CBR shock is set with a higher preload/weight of spring etc compaired to the NSR's then I would say it will be too stiff with the F3 linkages.
The F3 linkage really does increase the ratio of the stock shock by a huge amount. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
