check CDI units, try swoping them and see if the other cylinder fires up. if it does get another CDI to replace the U/S item. B

damn i've got the same problem

Mon Sep 24, 2007 7:20 pm » Post: #6 » Download Post

my front cylinder started missing fristly after a really long ride out, then intermittently, then it just stopped and wouldn't kick back in.

i checked the fuel getting to the cylinder(okay), the spark plug (okay) and then swapped over the coils (okay).

the strange thing is the only problem only happens when it gets warm as from cold the problem goes away but 5 miles into the journey it dies on the front. i'm thinking the coil but now i've read this i'm going to consider the cdi unit. i had a dodgy cdi on a kmx once and it seemed the same but before i spend out, i want to check the coil independently first once i've worked out how to do it.

i might check the wires around the cdi unit cos since having the bike i have taken the rear section off of my mc16 and since the previous owner made it one piece and it is a bit awkward to get off and on, i might have trapped something and it might be earthing out.

please let me know how you get on.

thanks
