Managed to spend some time with Andy this afternoon and have a good fiddle with a set of F3 32mm carbs and if there was ever any doubt how good NSR carbs are its gone now.
Both were run back to back with the same F3 reeds but changing the intake.
The PWK39's carbed very well really and had great power all the way though the midrange but always lacked alittle something down low.
The difference with the HRC F3 carbs was instant, great pick up and much stronger bottom to middle power. Peak power reamined the same but with a loss of 100-200 rpm over rev compaired to the PWK's.
Overall I think the NSR HRC carbs better but its still easyer to jet the PWK's.
Think hard before you ditch those NSR carbs in favor of something else! _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Hmm... I've only got 2 sets of F3 carbs, one set for the MC16 and one set for the MC18, but I think mine handled itself rather well today on kitted stockers.
Of course, I do have some "special" carbs to try yet. They could be interesting!
Mind you, I do have some little old PJ38's that may go on the MC16, that will free F3 carbs up for the MC21.
Oh, so many choices... what to do with it all? _________________ Andy.

Well I think after todays exercise the 39's will go on the RS, one set of F3 carbs will stay on the MC21F3 and the other set will live on the MC18F3. The Terra '18 will have to stick with kitted stockers. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...

How about actually turning up and having a go?
On a more serious note people will always say low end power doesn't matter (on a race bike) and they may have a point IF your name surname is Lorenzo, however when you're a rider with somewhat less talent for whom the rev counter always seems to be the wrong side of 10,000rpm it's a must, and that's before you worry about getting the damn thing off the line (and the F250 rules maybe..).
So, you going to tell us what's so special about these 32mm carbs? _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I think I'm going to stick with this set up now but try running a ram air kit and see if I can push the peak up alittle more. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Hey Steve, widen the transfers a tad so as to shift their useable range up the rpm scale a tad, and then switch back to the PWK's. Oh and another degree on the exhaust should start getting you into RS territory, where you really can have bugger all mid range and then a lunatic top end.
Ive already widened the transfers slightly with some good results but I think I will stick with the porting I have now. The only thing I want to do with the exhaust now is make the RC valves fit alittle better and make them alittle more like the MC18F3/RS ones with the flaired edges. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
