I've really not got the time, and I can't justify the space any more, so I'm guaging interest in my MC21...
Its at rather an early stage in the project (ahem..)
Comprises of, Frame, Forks, Swing arm (polished, and looks jolly nice), Engine.. Well, its pretty much an entire bike.. Probably easier to list what is missing... Most of the plastics are missing, only the front mudguard remains, the expansion chambers were u/s and were ditched the rear light unit is missing, and the subframe and footrests are bent.
I don't know a lot about the history of this bike before I got it, I'm not sure about the paperwork side of things, i'll have to check that when I get home.
Some plus points.. The wheels have been powder coated in black and look fab, the rear shock has been to be checked out (by Steve Jordan Motorcycles) and given the all clear, I have a new set of fork seals and springs still in the genuine Honda bags. I also have a complete set of suspension linkage bushes/rollers/dust caps, there are some replacement swing arm bushes.
I've been meaning to get round to getting more done on the bike, but lack of time, and lack of space have meant it has been collecting dust..
Hi Buddha,
I'm quite interested in the potential as a project and I only live an hour up the road (south of Worcester - just a blast along the M5) so it seems very tempting. I've been after an NSR project for ages now.
I don't think I could make an offer right now, mainly for fear of insulting you but I'd also like to know of any issues with the paperwork (if any). Some pictures would be great also.
Cheers
OK chaps, home now and had a chance to take some snaps and look up the paperwork...
Oh, and I forgot about the R&G bobbins I put on the swing arm too
The paperwork I have is the paperwork I got with the bike, it was registered then SORNed in Northern Ireland and I never got round to sending off what I was meant to, so it still reads that the previous keeper sort of still is.. or something. (The document isn't as straightforward as the Reg document you'd be used to, a little card fold up thing)
I bought the bike a few years ago with a view to going down the Tyga route, but ran out of money and enthusiasm for it, so i'm hoping someone can possibly carry on the cause.
The bike as I took delivery of it:
I then set about stripping it down, as I had nowhere to store it as it was:
Since it has been in bits I have had a look around the chassis and purchased from Fowlers the genuine parts I felt I needed to sort the rolling chassis out:
That little lot contains dust/oil seals and springs for the forks, the rollers and bushes for the complete linkage assembly and everything needed for replacing the head race bearings, cost over £100 and they're all still in the bags.
The shock that has been checked over by Steve Jordan (google him, an Ohlins god..) and given the all clear
The swing arm that has polished up rather nicely, and has the posh R&G bobbins on it
The frame, which i've given a bit of a clean up...
The wheels which have been powder coated in Black, and the rear is sporting a brand new 40T Renthal sprocket..
The engine... which i've never had running, but turns over ok..
And.. everything else...
I'll be very sad to see it go, as I would've loved to ridden it at some point, but as I said in the original post, I just don't have the time, nor the resources.
I paid £500 for it as you see it in the first pic, all the plastics were totalled and the spannies were rust ridden, so not to worry about them..
I'm in Bristol, and i'm a little pushed for transport at the mo, but how does £400 sound?
Hi Tom, If you could e-mail me at breakneck27@yahoo.co.uk with your telephone number. I could be down next week, the price is good.
Would I be right in assuming it is all dismantled? (**** rolling photo has white wheels so I'm guessing the parts pictures are more recent) I'm asking bacause I either rent a van (pain in the neck) or cram everything into an Impreza estate. Are the engine and frame numbers unmolested and do they appear on the log book card? Do they match up? I'll need to contact the DVLA to find out about the difference between N.I registrations and England's and what I'll need to do. I might possibly run an HPI check - please don't be offended by this.
Thanks in advance, Jim
To clear up a few points that you've raised, the bike is currently in pieces, the first couple of pics are one taken from when I first got the bike. Both the engine number and frame numbers match up with the Northern Ireland documents that came with the bike, I think I recall looking into getting the bike registered in my own name but kind of gave up on it (pretty much in the same manner that I gave up on everything else )
