Hi Guys,

will the nsr start with a dead battery ??

just stripped the carbs, got them runnig free, and flushed the tank out - was hoping to attempt to see how it runs... battery is dead and didn't want to start..

does it need battery power to get into life ??

I've heard that even a low charged battery will make the NSR act funny.... So, I'd say yes, you should fully charge your battery before attempting to start again.

Good luck..

You're fighting a losing battle with a dead or weak battery.

I call bullshit! My MC28 had a dead battery a couple times. It started with a little persuasion. not something I would want to do all the time, but it would get going. Once the bike "charged" the battery, it was fine for the rest of the weekend till i could get a new battery. Of course this was a race bike, full race harness, etc. so no extra components like lights, etc. to draw power while trying to push start it.

Oh ye, it will never kick over with a dead battery, just need to push it till you drop, then have a friend push it some more, it'll get going.

I didn't say it won't start, but it's still like trying to paddle up Hell's Canyon!

take the hint that without an army of people to push start, a decent batery is required to kick into life.....

My '28 needs a good bump, down hill ideally if the battery is flat, it needs to turn over a good few times before it will fire, it just will not go on the kickstart.
When the battery is fine it'll go with a gentle hand push on the kickstart first time.

the dead battery push gets your heart pumping first thing in the morning. Get's you all ready for a long day in the hot sun at the track Smile

The fresh battery does give you more time for coffee and a donut though Smile

If it won't start being bumped down the driveway and down the small hill on my street then it's going back in the garage until i get a new battery. Because I'm worn out pushing it back up the hill and back up the driveway. Embarassed
