I wonder if I am the only one here coming up 200cc short; anybody else on the smaller 2-strokes? 150-50cc guys, where art thou?
Here is my little chainsaw.
It had a leaking tank petcock that has since been replaced but it stained the frame. That will get taken care of when the frame gets refinished next year.
A previous owner peeled the tail sticker off but other than that all the graphics are complete and the bodywork is in good condition considering.
I was getting tired of dragging my shoes in corners so I bought these Posh backstep plates that kick the stock rear sets up and back (the red piece). Not as good as true aftermarket rear sets but it got the job done for now.
I like more than an idiot light for crucial things. With the tiny fanless radiator the bike comes with and sweltering summer heat I wanted to keep tabs on my coolant temps. Kitako makes this nice simple digital gauge that's sensor goes into the head at the stock location.
I didn't respect what the bike was telling me one day and blew a sweet hole in the piston. I stepped up to a Kitako high comp piston. While I had it tore down I replaced the reeds with some Kitako carbon fiber reeds and tore the airbox out so I could put a podfilter on it. I rejetted the carb and it runs real nice. The carb is loud without the airbox.
I am accumulating parts for a complete brake system overhaul and have my eye on some amazing new fiberglass bodywork.

you still have to register and plate it but 50cc and under can be ridden by anyone with a car license. Above that you must test on the bike. It's good because if there is a Japanese guy on an 1100 you KNOW he can ride it. Not like America where a guy with a license for three days buys a Hayabusa and thinks he can handle it.
I got a '83 yamaha rx50, uses the ysr motor but is in cruiser form, even the midnight special edition
It is currently getting a '77 yz80 motor transplant, bolts right in with a little pipe mod Should be a little sleeper..... if the bike can hold up to it
I gotta get some pics _________________ ring ding ding
Cool bikes! I still have a pair of them and a bunch of parts. I rarely ride these on the road anymore, more of having fun with them at the go cart track. Lots of parts for the mini bikes here in Japan now. Its all the rage to have a mini bike now and stuff a 100 cc four stroke engine into them. Cheers
