G,day i have a problem with the front cylinder its exhaust runs cold while the other cylinder exhaust heats up as it should i have spark and fuel (i think) as end of plug is wet and barely blows any smoke out the muffler compared to the other side.I had a similar promblem with the rear cylinder burning out plugs after a couple 100ks so i pulled down the carbs and cleaned and checked the reeds as i thought it might b running lean on that cylinder all seems to be ok at the moment except that front one.Nothing down low but if i hold it flat it finaly hits band go to change gear it dies its like its starving for fuel down low would that cause exhaust to run cold and have no back pressure? thanks for any help.
mine was doing that the other day on the front, i cleaned the plug and turned her over withe the plug out a few times to get any excess fuel out of the cylinder , gave it a quick squirt with wd40 and it started firing ok.
has the bike not been run for a while?
NO but i had the problem of the rear cylinder stuffin plugs,up to about fourth plug so i thought id pull carrbies down and check since put back together i cant get front cylinder to run right. Its got spark as i pulled out to check, both cylinders have new plugs and theres no mods to bike as far as i can tell.Theres just no back pressure.
In really simple terms you only need fuel, spark and compression for it to fire. It sounds like you have fuel so check for spark on the front plug, you'll need to pull both so it's easy to spin it over. My MC16 exhibited similar problems if the battery was low, when the regulator failed, and when the CDI died. So worthwhile running a volt meter across the terminals to check the health of the electrical system as well if you can get it running.
What do you mean by this? No compression? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

So it sounds like the problem has only occurred since you had the carbs apart. Sounds to me like you have a fuel problem, i suspect the carb will need to come apart again and check float height and clean out all the jets and drilling's. If its only happened since you had the carb apart, the problem must lie there.
