Lists R,SE and SP the same in specification section.
May be an idea next time you drain it to measure how much comes out in a measuring jug.
But make sure you check level after putting new oil in to make sure it has'nt lost any prior to draining.
I know it sounds simple but sometimes the most simple things are the best.
Yeah I know, I've seen the spec page quite a few times. I thought since the R model needs oil for the clutch it must take a little more oil for that reason. Too late for measuring what came out, I've always gone with the .7 for oil change. Haven't had a problem yet, so I guess all is good. Hell I was running 80w for a long time.
I've never seen a dipstick on a nsr. I even bought a new oil plug just to see what would show up. I think the oil would have to overflow in order to show up.
May sound kinda thick of me but I always filled it till the oil level was up to the first or second thread for the cap. Always worked for me on both wet and dry models. If you look a the so called dipstick, its right there at that level. Those dipsticks always look broken to me. Or you can go by volume. .7l for dry and .8l for wet. _________________ MC21 300R w/SE bits, Rossi 2001

Just saw this thread so coming in late, but on all the Honda motorcycles I've ever had the service manual says to place the filler cap in to the hole but don't screw it in when checking the oil level.
Not sure if that's true on the NSR because I can't read Japanese.
