flaccid kickstarter fix?

Wed Jul 16, 2008 9:30 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

My kickstarter has with time gone quite limp,i.e., there is so much play in it that it rattles against the frame when the engine is running. Not an awful sound really, but it has started to wear a spot on the frame. I tried dropping a Viagra into the gas tank, but stangely, it remains limp (the kickstarter that is). Miracle drug - bah! So....is there some way to get rid of the play? perhaps changing out the little retaining clip? Or does this just happen to all NSRs at some time? Smile
Thanks.

Thanks, Fenton. I'll give that a try.

I found a precision washer that matches the shaft diameter and ground it down for a perfect fit. I also pushed a short section of fuel line onto the lever to protect it from rattling against the frame.

The spring washer is a proper fix though...
