sorry...it's sunday, i had a late night and i'm not up top speed yet.
got myself a 21 flywheel for the 28. got myself a honda puller. can i get the retaining bolt loose? can i knackers!
crank keeps spinning...how do i stop it? bike is in gear and i've zip tied the front brake on...rear wheel still spins on the spot! yeah, both wheels are on the ground!
Bike in gear will never do it, even if you hold the clutch still it will just slip rather than undo the bolt.
A proper tool to hold the flywheel still is what you need, or (if you're a bit rough) an impact wrench, that'll just rattle it off. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
The flywheel holder is obviously the way to go... rattle guns on anything connected to the crank aren't really a very good idea, and should only be considered if you are (a) absolutely desperate, and (b) taking the crank out to rebuild it! _________________ Andy.

Best to get the flywheel holder if you can.
If you put it in gear you need to hold the rear brake on to stop the wheel turning. Sit on the bike with your foot on the brake. Get the socket and bar on the nut and apply pressure to take up the slack, then give a sharp pull to try and snap the bolt free. It will usually work this way. Sometimes the clutch will just slip, as Fontyyy says. Try backing off the clutch cable adjuster if it slips. Anti-clockwise to undo the flywheel bolt!
Sometimes a little heat is needed. On my little brothers KX500, we found the bolt had been loctighted in with bearing strength loctight (you can tell by the colour- dad uses it a bit)
Application of gas torch, impact driver and hammer required
On the bright side, you didn't neet anything to stop it turning. The compression was sooo huge. (My older brother can't start it... too lightweight to push the kickstarter down ) _________________ The Chopster
