Please state the model of NSR and any modifications please. We can't expect people to guess!
don't think by adding the missing throttle cable would affect the oil pump cable, when i had a problem with the bike starting and keeping revs my pulser coils were dirty, cleaned them up and it was all ok
are you cleaning up the plugs after you inspect them? some carb cleaner and a brass wire brush does wonders
do a search for pulser coils and you should be able to find the link to what the coils look like
Have just adjusted the oil pump index to correct postion. and done some cleaning to what looked dirty on pulser coils . Man its not easy, learning on the, patience is so thin. Its my fisrt bike hanging out for a ride .And hitting brick walls.Only had a tease.
I think i made things worst it feels like heaps of pressure is building now and it splutters now,and wont idle .
DID clean plugs and even got a new set , didnt help.
The other concern I had was running motor on 91 for an hour , before I read on line that was the wrong fuel type . could that stuff the motor in that short time. MAN i hope not.
I am understanding you right that it stuck at wide open throttle. Was that when you first started it and it was cold? I would be concerned about that and would do a top end check.
yes clean your carbs, and check if there are rust inside! and maybe you are missing springs on your carbs because normaly they close on there own! plus i think if your engine reved high when it was cold you might have broken the poor thing!
1st cleaning the carbs cost nothing but you might want to replace the screws with something harder.
2nd strip the chambers to see inside the piston for damage or make a compression test before you do that if you want. you can see also if the RC valve is ok too, wrong positions will also foul your plugs.
3rd go to premix before testing again at least it will protect you if your oil pump is not working well.
hope this helps! and be patient its not like the weather is going to let you go anywhere fo at least a few months. _________________ feel the wind
oops you are in NZ its prime time for you, but be patient anyway! it will save you more money. doing anything too fast will cost you a lot extra.
be patient on the bike but if the shops stall on you dont go easy on them! _________________ feel the wind
I am going to do the clean of carbs hope it helps.Looks like a tough job?.
My bike got kicked over last night ,Things just got worst,Gear lever broken
gear shifter bent ,.Have fixed lever .
BUT theres oil ever where.
What happens when a bike is left on its side? , I will top up lost oil?
Is there anything esle that I will need to do.
Worried as I dont want to seize motor.
There are some real morons out there gavster! Sorry to hear about that.
There won't be any problems with it being on its side, other than the scrapes/leaked fluids/bent and broken bits etc. With the correct carb (or fuel injection) a 2-stroke can actually run at any angle... even upside down, so being on its side whilst not running certainly isn't a problem.
Remember to check the coolant level. If some of the coolant has drained out of the expansion bottle overflow, the last thing you want is to get it running again and then find it overheats and seizes!
You've still not told those offering some ideas if you've cleaned the carbs and checked the jetting. It also helps if you describe any modifications that may effect setting it up.

My partner kicked my bike over and key my whole car . Only thought that happen on movies/oh well at least im in one piece. CANT WAIT TILL I can RIDE FREEDOM !!!!!!!!!!.
Soon as I can work out how to post photos will do.Im proud of my bike
I hope that is ex partner now!
It doesn't just happen in movies; with me about once a year.
I had a 'partner' last week whose other 'partner' visited my house and stole some brembo items and my tyga maggot exhaust clamp?
Good luck with the carbs; I see a guide to carb cleaning has just been posted. _________________ mc18 F3, mc21 300, mc21ish sp, mc21/28ish.

I also had to clean the carbs, I had an excess fuel problem, spilling out the drain pipes till it drained my fuel tank dry,... it worked!! with minor adjustments to the floats.
And Yes, hope it's an EX partner now.
