I have bought nx5 pistons, flat and rounded.
I also have some kit pistons. Not sure why they are different?
I also don't own a nx5
I think they are considerably different in height to the nsr. The nf5 I hope are good for the F3 because I have loads and yet to check. _________________ mc18 F3, mc21 300, mc21ish sp, mc21/28ish.

Now I understand.
I actually bought them by accident. So I would need the kit cylinders and when I buy a nx5 I doubt it will have them.
So, if Matt can't use them I guess somebody on here might.
Back to your original question - anybody? _________________ mc18 F3, mc21 300, mc21ish sp, mc21/28ish.

I use NX5 pistons in my race bike. They are shorter, so you need to skim the cylinder height down to suit. Its a lot of work. An easier option is the 90s RM125 motorcross piston which is very similar to the NSR and a lot chaeper than an NX5. See a thread on this in the main discussion section of the site.
On the A kit piston, the ring peg is at the rear of the piston rather than off set. As Kieran says, it runs over the rear transfer port itself. This is possible as the A kit piston uses a very thin ring (0.7mm) so is flexible enough not to snap like the more rigid 1mm standard ring.

Standard NX5 pistons are no good in an F3.
NF5 pistons are also different to F3 ones. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
I know the nx5 pistons are no good; I always buy parts when cheap for motorcycles I wish to own in the future. I didn't mean to buy the kit ones though.
I did think the F3(89) pistons were a nf5 part number. Wasn't sure if they were different than the nf5 piston nf5 part number.
All adds to the excitement if they don't fit. _________________ mc18 F3, mc21 300, mc21ish sp, mc21/28ish.

Never happen to me, I'm Buddhist.
Do good get good.
Anyway, I go round corners that slow; the bike is nearly upright _________________ mc18 F3, mc21 300, mc21ish sp, mc21/28ish.

Why not come to Pattaya bike week and we could have a slow motorbike race?
You could even help a certain person finish my crankcases.
Without starting another thread, anybody else coming to Pattaya for the Daytona beating bike week (pretty similar but no fat chicks allowed). _________________ mc18 F3, mc21 300, mc21ish sp, mc21/28ish.
