UK Insurance...

What are you paying, what cover do you have, and what modifications have you declared?

Mine just never gets any cheaper, despite living in a low-crime area, 5+ years no claims (never claimed), and a clean license for 22 years, i.e. since I got it! Is it just me?! Confused

You don't count! Laughing

Christ only knows how yours is so cheap! With the bikes you have as your main rides, the sheer number of bikes downstairs, your age, and the trade you work in, there is something VERY wrong with your premium! Even if for some strange reason you can't ride for a year or two (working abroad or something), just keep on paying it! You'd certainly never want to start a new policy! Very Happy

Mine seems pretty reasonable, have a multi bike policy with ebike. Had three NSRs and a YSR80 on it for under £300 fully comp. It did go up £100 when I changed a NSR off and added the R6. But still pretty good I think.

All mods declared on all bikes as well.

I've an SP1 and two NSRs,fully comp.,costing less than 400 euro,all mods declared.Considering a youngster I know was quoted 4000 euro for a CBR250,I don't feel too bad!!Insurance in Ireland can be scarily expensive.

That's more like it! I can't see why it shouldn't be under £100 with a blemish free license for 20+ years!

Mines was about £80 ish and thats fire and theft it was over double fully comp. Its not bad though as i dont have any no claims as i let my previous policy lapse for more than 2 years.

Im 25 but im a qualified instructor and most insurance companys recognise this as some sort of advance riding qualification and it does make my insurance much cheaper. Cool

Well, my renewal is due in the summer and I expect it to be about £500! Thats TPFT and covers an ER5 (have to commute somehow!), MC16 and a 125LC.

There all largely un-modified, but to be honest at that price Id have to think very carefully if I even wanted to get a quote for any mods!

Oh and by the time the renewal comes up, Ill be 19, with (hopefully) 3 years no claims and a clean licence. Im at uni too, so I think thats partly why I get hammered! The restriction on my licence passes at the tail end of the summer, so it may get cheaper after that. Heres hoping... Crying or Very sad

Well that serves you right for being a sprightly teenager amongst old farts that just want to feel (like... honest!) a teenager! Laughing

I wish I could've afforded an NSR when I was 19! As it was, I had to wait until 23, and even then it was £3500... a lot of money for a 250 back then; to me at least! Confused

For my Rothmans SP, I've got Classic Bike Insurance, fully comp, 1500 miles per year limit. £180. It costs a bit more than many other policies, but it has a 'guaranteed value' of £5000 if a total loss claim is made.
