Determining the Bike type based on the engine serial number

Is it possible to tell what model bike the engine came from by looking at the engine serial number? My engine was replaced with an SP at some point, so I'm interested in knowing what model it came from.

Does it have round or Hexagonal cylinder heads?

I don't really know what you mean by cylinder head. Do you mean this? :

Most likely a 21 motor. Not giving much away with the photo though.

'18 surely? Smaller head nuts?

Or looking again, maybe not........

Basically we need a better picture of the whole head, not just a fraction of it through the v-piece.

OK so I managed to do it today, was away at the weekend so didn't get a chance. I'm off to Berlin in a minute so I had to do it quickly; here is the best picture I could get:

The motor overall doesn't look bad though. No real signs of rusty nuts or anything.
