Hi GUy's have a problem with my powervalve servo on my 21 race bike.
After insalling the engine after a rebuild the servo motor cycle's fine but will not turn all the way to the Hi mark??. A powervalve cable did jam on the engine as I was removing it so I'm thinking I may have damaged it then??when it rotates to the lo mark it seems to be below the lo indicator point??
Any Ideas.
Cheers
Anthony
HI Guy's
I've tried a new servo motor an it still will not rotate to the HI position it will only go about 3/4 of the way. Could it be the PGM ??.Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.
Unplug the servo motor and make sure you can turn it using your hands first.
Check that the valves inside the barrel are going to their full open postion rather than whats writen on the servo body. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
Dumb question but have you checked whether the cable adjusters are slackened off too? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Just for your information, "Hi" isn't actually the high mark! It's only an indication so you know the valves are moving towards the high position.
As Dave says, make sure the cables are adjusted properly, and also have the required slack in them.
If in doubt as to its operation, I would be inclined to fit the servo without the cables attached (pin the RC Valves open with a knock pin) and run the motor. The servo should move from closed to open at 2000rpm and back to closed at 3000rpm. Once you've ascertained correct movement, then attach the cables and adjust the cables as necessary. _________________ Andy.

Thanks guys. After checking the powervalves as described they appear to be working just fine. I think my problem lies in the TPS as it feels like it did when I did'nt have the TPS fully plugged in at one stage. I think it's the TPS coonector block as it's quite warn from having the carb's off so many times.
Does this sound feasibe??
Thanks again for you Help/Knowledge.

is it a straight forward procedure replacing the TPS as i have a spare ??
THanks
It's straightforward if you have the Torx bit to undo the retaining plate screw and a multimeter to check the setting once the replacement TPS is fitted.
Fine adjustment of the TPS can be the difference between 30hp and 60hp! _________________ Andy.
