A couple of Q's on Derestricting..

Thu Feb 11, 2010 10:29 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi, as part of fitting the mc18 loom and pgmII to my mc16, I've been looking as to how they are de-restricted.

Now the wire splice, I'm happy with but the gear position/speed limiting thing Is keeping me in the dark. I dont have the gps on my mc16, so how do I go about fooling the pgm into thinking its in 3rd? Also there is an m-max de-restrictor on the loom but its attacked to the pgm main plug and goes nowhere bar a looped 3-pin spade connector, guessing this is to go to the gps?

What do other racers do with the mc18's loom?

Cheers
Paul

hi paul , there,s no gps on the mc18 , you only need to do the wire splice to de-restrict it

It's not really a derestirction, it advances the timing, if you're setup wants the timing advancing, it'll give a bit of power, if it's on the edge anyway it'll reduce your front piston to a glob of molten ally.
