Hi, had the main bearings replaced on the 21 and the carbs sonic cleaned. Checked the jets were all the right size etc. Now its all back together and the guy at the shop took it for a run and it goes alright upto 6000 rpm then hits a brick wall. powervalves seem to be working properly.
Any ideas !!!!!!
Powervalves cables fitted correctly and not backwards - so it closes at high revs instead of opens? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Hi, that was my attempt at humour . Yes float heights set. Mentioned in conversation with the MECHANIC that when i got the bike it had no air filter in it, low and behold when i spoke to him today he says he ran it without the filter and it was much better, so can anyone give me jet sizes needle positions for standard settings in our lovely climate. want to do the wire splice once i,ve had it running properly standard . Cant wait to get it back...
You'll have to jet it yourself according to your setup - is the bike completely stock? Any wire splice done? Airbox modified? Standard exhaust? HRC jet kit fitted?
Standard settings are for completely standard engines (obviously) and unless you know for absolute certain you're running a totally stock engine the only safe way to jet is by coming down the sizes until the plugs are looking right.
What jets are in it now?
What plugs?
Injector or pre-mix?

All standard, ngk br9 ecm plugs, standard jets as per the workshop section, standard airbox and filter, stock pipes and still using the oil pump. Looks like its definately down to the jetting

When i last spoke to the mechanic he said he would have a fiddle with the needles and it was running a bit rough down the rev range. Will be speaking to him tomorrow so will post any news then.
