If any NSR owners have an ohlins 46hrcl fitted to their bike, can you tell me what you think of it?
Also, my bike has got the full TYGA treatment lined up for it, so it will weigh much less than standard (bout 115kg i'm guessin ) as it will be a track only machine. What do you think this will do to the performance of the shock absorber?
Take a look at http://www.apexleisure.co.uk/nsr.htm
The Rothmans MC28 down the bottom of the page has an Ohlins shock fitted.
Why dont you contact them, I'm sure they can help.
For the amount of weight you will be removing, the shock shouldn't need that much work. Now if the shock is sprung with a heavy spring, then you would want to look at that. Probably will be able to simple set the shock as is, and it will be fine.
Of course that all depends on what shape the shock is in to begin with. If it needs to be rebuild, and recharged, then you will want to do that no matter what.
If you are fitting a NEW Ohlins, then the supplier should be able to supply a spring suitable for the combined weight of you and the bike.
I'd say that for most road riders, the standard valving inside will suffice, once the correct spring is fitted.
As for an Ohlins as a shock absorber on the NSR... well, I don't think you are really going to find or need one much better! _________________ Andy.

Hi Tom
I Just picked up a Ohlins rear shock off of a cbr 600 it was set up for a 175 lbs. rider. I put it on my MC18 and it feels pretty close. For the street it is fine. You can always have it reworked.

If youre in the UK Harris performance are the importers of Ohlins. If you buy a new one off them they will build it for your weight and bike. Bill limb has one on his 21 that he got from them. Hes very light so they made one up special at no extra cost. You should be able to find them on the web. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
