Is it just me, or did someone change all my fonts. ? Works better tho, i use google chrome, middle mouse button never worked in old forum.. _________________
Firefox still doesn't allow me to log on, IE does. Firefox works with every other forum I use fine.
And now the forum sometimes does the annoying open in the same tab if you click a link thing (same as the Derby Phoenix forum does), so if you click a link in a preview you lose your post (right click open in new tab is OK though) as the back button just brings up a session expired message. On the DP forum (or maybe it's Firefox) the back button does however bring your post back.
Other times it opens a tab, other times it opens a new window.
All this is in IE, it's exactly the same in Firefox as its always been but it doesn't work for me, don't ask about Chrome as I keep my machine as free of Google's spyware ridden programs as I can.
***edit***
More info, it's the same as it was before if I log out in IE, it's only different if I'm logged in.
Logged in
Not logged in
***Ah, a further edit***
You can change it in your profile, click profile, there is a dropdown box near the bottom called "board style". "nsrWorld" is what I used to get and what you get if you're not logged in. "NSRWORLD Special Edition" is what I get now by default if I log in.
Everything is back to normal, Firefox still doesn't work though _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
What is all this talk about FireFox and Google Chrome? Doesn't everyone use IE
Ye, different browsers do things differently, it's what makes people go crazy trying to develop quality websites. Even version to version of the same browser layout pages differently.
Luckly Google never took the world by storm as google was hoping. On average, they have about 3% of the webbrowsers that come to the sites I run. Firefox is actually a bit more at about 12-15%.
As Fontyyy pointed out, the original style is still there, you can change back and forth in your profile settings.
Changing the forums has been a two purpose reason for me, the first was a give a fresher look to the forums (has been the same for the past 6 or 7 years since we opened them), the second was to give me a test bed to really learn divs rather then tables and css. been using divs and css for many years, but this allowed me to really deep dive and get a much greater understanding of the divs especially.
As expected, Andy was the first to email me with his displeasure I switched him back to the old style. Who would have guessed he wouldn't like the new style. Guess well have to do a poll to see if those who like the new style vs old style has anything to do with their like/dislike for the MC21 vs MC28 _________________ Charles Gallant
I like the new look, but the one button I really would like added is the "view first read" which saves you trawling up and down trying to remember where you'd got to, especially useful on multipage threads.
Any chance? _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Dave,
was this there before?
There is a link at the main forum page, for "view posts since last visit", as well as "view unanswered posts".
When viewing a specific forum index with new posts, there is a red folder icon next to the title of the thread with new posts. Clicking on this icon will bring you to the first unread post of that thread. _________________ Charles Gallant

Middle mouse button? You mean mice with wheels and clicking the wheel, which allows you to scroll by moving the mouse?
I know this works with IE and FireFox (just installed firefox 3.6.10 to test this with, as I had only tested in IE and some in chrome, and some in Opera on my phone). _________________ Charles Gallant

Just installed firefox 3.6.10, and login works fine. Do you have any plug-ins?

For BBCode links in a post, the default behavior is to open a new window. of course the "new window" action depends mostly on your browser settings if it opens another window or a tab. I don't have control over that.
If someone puts an a href tag in their post, they would need to define the target to be new for that link to open a new window. if they dont put in the target param into their html code, it will simple bring you to the link in the same window. Standard operating procedure for browsers. I can't control any of that without parsing ALL html code, looking for the a href tags and adding a target param into the tag.

Google's spyware? You mean the fact that google's chrome browser forces the use of a google proxy server, so they can track ALL traffic from their browser? ye, i really dont use chrome _________________ Charles Gallant

I shudder when people say they still use IE, it's the devil! Do yourself a favour and get FireFox or Chrome pal
Didn't like the new look especially with PM's so I'm still old skool
Since using Win7 Firefox has locked up , has boot up problems and reguraley fooks up on me !! Uninstalled and installed many times so enough was enough - got better things to be doing with my time !
Back using IE after many years away from it
Tried loading FF just last week and same old story So that was the last time.
Found Opera to be OK and very useful for stripping images out of sites where IE & FF are blocked
BTW, not going back to XP as PC is stable and fast
I like the new look, except for the fontyyy .. maybe the smaller one or whatever it was before was easier to read

my middle button will click open a new link into a new tab, as it does with i.e and fox (also scroll if i move it around). Using google chrome it would do the same, but for some reason my current page would also change to the link.. so i would end up with 2 of the same page.
But alas, it worx like it should _________________

Not got a clue what any of you lot are on about, can we stop all the geek speak and get back to talking about motorbikeas and slagging off mc28's please
My post font seems to be coloured black by default (Firefox browser btw). Kind of annoying to have to edit all the post to change it to white so that you can actually read it.
