They reckon people are paying up to £8k for NSRs as the availability from Japan is becoming scarce now.
I've heard of some people paying £5k for an MC28 from Fastline, but £8k
It's interesting as some of the sorted bikes by forum members here don't get bought for £3-3.5k _________________ Why do things simply when you can complicate them
For 8k you can buy the real deal, its called an RS250, at the end of the day an f3 nsr is still what it is, an nsr. Ayup here comes the hornets nest. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
i'm with les,you can get very good rs 250'sfor that money, ive even seen a couple of tsr honda's fetch that _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
I agree with you Si but the title of the thread was who's paying 8k for an NSR. I think if you were a collector with a deep pocket and if you could even find one, there are people out there that will pay that. _________________ "............should have bought a Honda"
for mine, bollocks mate my bikes a very good example of what happens when you want a unique bike, the spending gets out of hand and them that know we tell you that i'm not a well off fella.i could have sold it and bought an rs,but that would have been to easy i wouldnt really sell mine as its not just the money ive thrown at the bike, its the fact ive had it since 1999 so its part of the family now, unless anyone wants to give me 8 grand for it _________________ ive seen more tarts than mr kipling
Well it could actually be the dealers putting that little snippet together to drive up some business and a bit of panic buying. however in light of whats happened in Japan, i do feel dealers are now rushing around to buy up private stock where they can because they know there will be nothing coming out of japan for at least a year or two, and assuming lots of stock wasn't destroyed or ruined.
one things for sure the wave that 250 strokers is riding on may well have peaked, however they are not going to come down either, and with the pound being so knackered most are being snapped up and going to europe where they seem pretty good value for money.
400's (well some anyway) are getting trendy again, and over the last 3 - 4 months there has been a large interest of good quality original NC30's changing hands for big money. Finding them is getting hard, all the junk on ebay means prices of good usable original bikes is climbing and fast.
We all know it's fine putting a price tag of 8K on a used bike, however in the real world unless it sells then whats the point.
Its quite clear the number of bikes left in the uk or at least coming into the UK is going to get less and less, but also its true that £6500 for a Rothmans is the going rate at the moment, even if not all purchased by UK buyers, they are still selling at that price albeit slowly.

Les, how u doing? The comment from the 'hornet's nest' may be....an original F3 NSR (fully built by the factory) is much rarer than some model RS250's, if not equal on absolute performance. _________________ Rich
