Mines cracked, all around.
I have a carbon fiber cover so fading won't be an issue.

Disassemble the clocks and remove the digital display. You will have to completely remove it so you just have the actual digital display in your hand...then either put it on a radiator or under a hair dryer for a few minutes, let it cool and repeat until the last cooling part the dark/fading has disappeared. Worked a treat on two LCD's I had.

Sorry, I thought you were talking abou the LCD, not the surround. I may have a spare knocking around, will let you know.
