HRC RC Valve + Idiot = Confused

Thu Aug 18, 2011 2:17 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

G'day Guys!

Im having some trouble with the setting the valves with the HRC method. I adjusted them yesterday by feeling the "lip" (best way i can describe it) but according to the diagram i think i set them of the square Bolt?? or was this the RC Valve?

The diagram looks like i should feel the Bolt first then further in the RC Valve. All i can see tho is the Square lipped section (Possibly bolt) that i adjusted or beyond that the exhaust port.

Also i only warmed the bike up, removed the tank - set the servo as per 2500rpm then removed the exhausts etc. Was i meant to do the on /off TPS part first? I figure that part isnt needed as the servo is already set to open the RC Valves.

Either way the bike is running a lot better, thanks for your helping your local village idiot Razz

You can look in there with a torch before you go fingering the exhaust ports blindly, you know Razz

I have a 300, and I'm not aware of any bolt... hmm

You feel the furthermost part of the rc valve, where it recesses just before the cylinder. It should be 0.2 mm recessed, so you should only just feel a slight lip between it and the port.

hahaha im not sure im meant to take a torch when i go fingering Razz

Back on topic .. just realised how stupid i am, the "bolt" is the front face of the RC Valve. I didnt reach in far enough, maybe a torch is a good idea Laughing - back off with the exhausts tomorrow.
