Recieved my new GPS sensor today, tested it via connecting the neutral terminal, earthing it to the flywheel and turning the pin. The Neutral light lights up great.
Fitted it to the bike, whilst bike is in neutral keeping the pin in the same position and the light is still on.
Changed out of neutral, and the light is still on. I know the switch when moved turns the light off, so obviously the pin isnt being moved when i change gears.
Why?
I noticed there isnt a recess in the shape of the pin for the pin to seat into, closest i can see is a (CI) shape, (rounded with a flat side) that would mate up to the switch. But that doesnt line up, when the pin is in the right position for neutral.
Am i missin a part between the GPS pin and the gearbox? also is it normal for oil to seap from the gearbox to the GPS?
Hoping someone can advise ASAP as ive got a few hours now to work on it
Just noticed the old switch pin is worn, and the new one already has a mark on it just from moving the gear selector.
What is the pin meant to sit in? Can I still get one?
Also oil is seaping past the seal (not the GPS seal) every time the gears are changed, I'm sure this isn't normal - what seal do I have to replace and what's involved with doing this job ie splitting the case? Etc or can I do it through the GPS hole?
