They should, that era Honda's are all the same, it's the NSR with it's smaller discs that's the odd one out and they only vary in diameter.

An often cheaper option are NC30, NC35, or VTR1000 discs over RS ones. NF4 125, NF5, and NX5 all use a similar disc, and all are the same size and offset as the above road bikes.

I initially used NC35 discs with my RWU RS front-end, but use NF5 discs with the USD setup. With HRC calipers and a radial master cylinder, the front-end is out-of-this-world! Even a muppet like me can tell the difference! Smile

The bonus with NF/NX discs over NC/VTR however, is that they are fully floating. You get that nice "chink-chink-chink-chink" sound as you wheel the bike around! Very Happy

When I rode Steve's F3 the brakes and forks were so much better than mine it was hard to get used to in the short time available.

On my bike (which is just stock with heavier fork oil) though I can brake late enough to make passes on those I race with it's clear I'm close to the limit, the lever needs a real squeeze, there's some judder from the front not tracking over the bumps that well etc.
On Steve's using the same braking markers (so, probably from a similar speed as I was considerably slower in the corners yet on a lot faster bike) I was still so far from the limit there was no sensation I was pushing at all (just the odd big bike going backwards fairly quickly), fear of throwing it down the road and concern about the front tyre (quality and age) meant I was unwilling to push further but I'm fairly sure ultimately they'd make a huge difference.

I've heard where some of the fast F250 boys say they can brake (for anyone who knows, past the surface change at Cadwell - Park Corner) and I struggled to see how before. Now? Maybe, just maybe...

It wouldn't hurt for you to have a master cylinder that actually works, Fontyyy! That judder you're feeling is probably the judder when you pull the lever in! Shocked Laughing

what are the differences in the nx* series disks?

I am in a similar situation, as I am using a magtek with nxa forks.

what can i do in regards to selecting a caliper/disk combo that'll fit?

All have the same offset and PCD. You'll need HRC or NC calipers though, or to machine the NSR ones, else the discs will bind.

Be sure you know if they are NF or NX forks, as they have different caliper pitches. The first NF5 has the same as the NSR, the later NF5 and NX came with Brembos.

Well, after a little research... I havn't really been able to come up with much other than finding people using the same disks that you've already mentioned.

So which calipers should I be looking for exactly, if I want to buy a set? I did some looking and I can see two different combos using nxa forks (I think) but they are using slightly different calipers, or perhaps they are different revisions of the same model (no idea)

So what do you think I am looking at here? They all seem to be using different disks too...

Any 40mm pitch Brembo caliper will fit the NX5 forks.
As mentioned previously any 296mm diameter disc from an NC30 / Firestorm / early Fireblade will fit the wheel and work with these calipers if you cannot get any NX5 discs.
