BioFuel in NZ

Sat Oct 22, 2011 11:41 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Has anyone had problems using BioFuels. I used some I think it was 10% BioFuel. Had reservations but still went through with it.

Now I seem to have a seized front cylinder but the fuel may not have been the problem. Was first ride out after winter. Bike lasted about 45min before letting go. There appears to be a bit of what look like burnt oil in the radiator and one on the cylinder head nuts had come loose. Not sure if these were contributing factors.

By any chance if anyone in NZ reads this and has a mc28 cylinder kicking about that is in good condition please let me know.

If a nut came loose then I am sure all of them weren't tighten properly in the 1st place.

1. Exhaust gasses escaped via the water ports that's why you have burnt oil in the radiator.
2. Water most probably got into the barrel too causing detonation leading to a seizure.

P.s Look inside the classifieds, I am selling some barrels.

Cheers

Your use of biofuel is interesting. I wonder how others would do if they also try bio fuel instead and would share their experiences here.
