2 Degrees by any chance? Been doing a bit of digging, seems the '18 one is retarded compared to the '21 item, but the 28 item is retarded compared to the '21 so maybe a match for an '18?
Not racing until I've got a flywheel so may be a cheap summer! _________________ More **** two strokes than you can shake a **** stick at.
The '18's was retarded more than a '21 but only by a little, the '28's is much further retarded. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
It's set for mc28 along with any other keyword like "lemon", "retarded", "slow" etc etc.
I have been busy getting the new rs bodywork fitted and getting the retarded mc28's up and running . I just bought another 28 sp rolling chasis so should have one of each 28 sp and a full on tyga bike soon.....I must deserve lots of abuse for that some have kept my head down.
Dont worry, I have been keeping a keen eye on what's going on though!!
If using an MC18 wiring harness and MC18 coil in an MC21 motor, should the flywheel then be the MC21? _________________ MC21R9N track

Assuming there is a difference in the position of the pick-up triggers on the MC18 and MC21 flywheels (in relation to the crankshaft), then to keep the timing standard you have to run the MC18 flywheel with the corresponding MC18 PGM (be it PGM-I or PGM-II) and run the MC21 flywheel with the corresponding MC21 PGM (PGM-III)
But the whole point of this thread is to find out exactly what the difference is between the MC18 and MC21 flywheels in terms of the ignition timing triggers.
I would like to know, because, it may be possible to advance or retard the ignition simply by swapping flywheels.
This in combination with offset woodruff keys may make quite a few different offsets possible in terms of ignition timing.
So back to the original question,... does anyone know what pick-up trigger difference there is (in degrees) between MC18 (R5k / R6k) and MC21 flywheels?
