Wonder does anyone having this problem, that is;
When using two H4 light bulb for MC28 head light, even both of them were 12 volt 35/35 watt after sometime the battery will still run low (Sometime, till a stage not even able to start the bike).
Have anyone try wired two head light in series by using two 6 volt H4 light bulb may be 55/65 watt? or what ever wattage.
Can share the outcome with me? Can two 6 volt light bulb wired in series run across by 12 volt, the amp should be the same. As for my understanding MC28 by factory are run in parallel,where the amp needed is double but can only run 12 volt bulb, if a 6 volt were to put on will blow off.
There shouldn't be any issues running the OEM 12V bulbs. I would check your battery and charging circuit. If the battery is old (and possibly low on electrolyte) it will neither hold or take a good charge from the system.
If the stator or reg/reg is failing, that will mean the battery is either not receiving the correct charge, or the system may spike, causing damage to the battery (and possibly even the PGM-IV).
Messing about with 6V bulbs could cost you a lot in the (no so) long run! _________________ Andy.

I ever check with the workshop before and their reply to me is the charging is good.
Never change the reg or check before, as their reply is that i am having a good charge by measuring the battery at the + and - pole with the multi-meter.
Have already change a few new batteries, all of them will be running well with two 12 volt 65/55 watt bulb for about 3 month, after three month the voltage runs low and i have to disconnect one bulb in order to start.
Manually take out the battery and charge will run another three months, and after the same thing happen.
Have check with most of the MC28 rider here, all of them are having the same problem. And most of them are running with one 12 volt 35/35 watt H4 light bulb. That is why i am consider using two 6 volt bulb, as i prefer to run the bike with two bulb then one.
If the NSR switch is anything like the NC23/29/30 range switch (they look identical) using 2x 55W (dip) bulbs will burn out the headlight switch because it's not designed for such bulbs and is a well-known problem, over on 400greybike site they have a fix which involves binning the switch, modifying the wiring and fitting a relay.

I am not sure a bout the wiring for other country regard this bike. But for me, my bike do not have a on/off switch for the headlight. That is, first kick the headlight will on and second kick the bike will start and the headlight will stay on until you switch off the key (Pull out the card). Of cause sometime the first kick the bike will start to "ROAR". I only have high beam and pulse that is concern to the headlight.
I can assure you the MC28 will never have left Honda with substandard lighting.
As Leigh says, your battery is probably shot, or the regulator/rectifier is dying, or the output from the stator is starting to fail. Other than that, it could be a short somewhere in the wiring harness that's slowly draining your battery.
Non-OEM batteries, or poor quality aftermarket items will often fail within 6 months in hot and humid climates. Until I fitted race fairings and removed the lights on my MC21, I rode tens of thousands of kms, and ALWAYS rode with the lights on. I've only ever needed to buy 2 (high quality) batteries in 18 years, and replaced the reg/rec once. (It's a known weak point on NSRs.) I am sure a myriad of MC28 owners here (and MC16/MC18 owners) can tell you similar stories.
The long and the short of it is the NSR250, ALL models, in ALL conditions, needs a strong battery in tip-top condition. This goes for road bikes and race bikes. The exception to this rule is the F-III setup, that uses "low draw" electronics, but still needs a well maintained and charged NiCad pack, or it will rapidly drop a cylinder and the RC Valves will fail. _________________ Andy.
