Rear head conversion

Fri Feb 22, 2013 12:24 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Has anyone had any issues with air being trapped in the cylinder when doing the rear head conversion since the water passage is pointing down. I'm in the process of doing this now, just wanted to get some insight. Thanks.

Michael,
No air will be trapped. Once you have filled the rad with fluid, you will have the bike running, blipping the throttle a bit.
You will see air bubbles rising as the water pump circulates the water. Once up to temperature, give it a few more blips, top it up and you are good!
Good luck

lean the bike over to 45 degrees on the left to help get air out of the rad when you fill it up .

Thanks for the responses, I ended up putting putting a bleed hole in the head anyway.
