MC21 Fuel hose size

Fri Oct 25, 2013 5:50 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi guys, does anyone know what size the hose is that runs from the fuel tap on the tank to the carbs?

I'm looking to buy a quick release fuel line connector and need to know if I should buy a 6, 8 or 10mm connector?

And no, I can't check as the bike is having some work done and I don't have it!

Thanks guys.

Thanks Andy. Next question is, where do I get one? The ones I've come across are either 6 or 8mm, where do I find a 10mm one?

Yes! Smile

Internal hose, external on the union on the carbs! Wink I just happen to have a set of F3 carbs on the desk in front of me!

Actually, the union is more like 11mm!

Thanks for checking mate. I was really hoping it would be 8mm, as it's looking impossible to find a 10mm connector.

It shouldn't be this hard, does anyone have any ideas where to find one?

I've been using 8 mm (internal) tubes with no problems.

Try looking for a 3/8 quick break connector (opposed to 10mm). Possibly from a us racing parts outlet. I run 3/8 fuel hose (9.5mm) on my bike with a 10mm inline filter.

I have used these quick connectors for some years now, with no problems, just remember to push them all the way or they can block the flow.

If you want to use it on several bikes, be aware that even if they look the same, different makes are not compatible.

The outside diameter is 9mm, so an 8 mm tube is neccessary and it will go on the tank as well.
