Hi Santum,

Congrats with your purchase ! Looking good.

I see Magteks, check for dry clutch and adjustable suspension...

Where did you buy her from if I may ask and is it the same place as per the other photos you have in your photobucket ?

Cheers,
Mario

Hi Mario, it is real to the bone, all numbers match up. I just thought I'd ask a silly question.

And yes same place, although some pics in the bucket are from a different place.. Few little rusty bolts on that thing, but the body and engine are tops

The best NSR250! I really like the Cabin, as you just don't see that many around for some reason, and the HRC Anniversary edition is the rarest, but the MC21SP Rothmans is the pick of the models. Fantastic balance of mechanics, chassis, looks, and ease of performance.

Surely the best 250 2-stroke street bike ever sold!! Smile

I agree.. the best 2 stroke ever built. if not the NSR250 then definitely the mighty NSR500!!

But for most 2-stroke addicts the Honda's are off the radar. Most of the guys on the other 2T forums are either Suzuki or Yamaha men .... plus the Kawasaki triple men of course... but not many of them go for the Honda's...I also have an aircooled Yam 250 which i love and will never sell, but the NSR is better designed and built than any of the others... Cool

Nothing comes close to the NSRs design.

The next best, I would personally say, is the Yamaha 3XV, but it is unnecessarily complicated in my opinion. I mean, and I'm not the only one to say it, why on earth would a 90 degree V-twin 2-stroke need a balance shaft?! Laughing The airboxes, electronics, and engine configurations are a shambles, and the the whole package just looks messy. (Apart from the chassis.)

The NSR motor... largely unchanged for its entire production run. It says everything about the original design concept.

RS250 NF5 motor... based on the NSR250R...

RS250 NX5 motor... using the same design features as the NSR250R, albeit in a 72 degree configuration...

NSR500V motor... same again... just scaled up!

Honda hit the nail on the head with it's design, and left all others in its wake. Let's not even get into bore x stroke measurements. Smile

In a way I'm glad that the NSR250 was never officially imported to the UK. Wink

.....although a fair few have been produced in the last few years at the expense of SE or even R models.

I was going to say I bet there are at least double that now. You never see SE's for sale these days.

That's why I said officially! Wink

I'm sure the same can be said for the MC28 Rothmans SPs... I've even heard tales of official Honda dealers in Japan converting bikes to "SP"s back in the day! Shocked

Yes, any rothmans bike has the be the most copied/faked. As far as I can tell the only Nsr that can't be faked is the 95 sp.
