Can anyone tell me if the 17 inch wheels from an MC18 will fit on an MC16? Question Thanks, Curtis

i fitted a MC21 front end to my 16. its an easy swop just fit the 16 stem into the 21 yoke. the 18 front should fit the same way. the clip ons are too low so i,m looking for a set of 16 ones to get bored out to fit the new forks.
i also fitted a MC18 swinging arm, wheel, brakes, etc fits in no trouble at all. just make sure you use the R2j arm not the 5k.
if you fit a 18 or 21 front end to your 16 you will loose the speedo drive. i,m using a mini moto speedo at the moment, but i,m looking to fit a 21 engine cover and speedo drive.

Jeff, why cant you use a R5K swinger? just because of the rear brake torque arm?

you could use the R5k arm but its a lot more work. the 16 has no mounting on the frame for the torque arm. the frame is not flat where the arm mounts so you would need to grind away some of the webbing and make up spacers, not a problem on a bare frame, but a lot of extra work if the bikes in one bit still.

I've got a CBR250 rear rim on the back of my MC16. Same colour and style as the NSR's, but 17 x 4". Just had to swap the linkage plates around underneath to get the ride height right. Oh, and make a spacer for between the cush drive bearing and wheel bearing. Enjoy...

I was thinking of putting the CBR250 rear on my MC18 to change from 18"to 17". but have since found that most 250cc slicks seem to need a 5-5.5"rim.

Anyone got any suggestions? Is anyone running slicks on thier NSR? If so, what ones?
