Have I damaged my PGMIII?

Thu Apr 30, 2015 10:55 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

My MC21 has an HRC wiring harness for track use. It has no keyed ignition, only the run/off switch. I inadvertently left the switch in the run position for 2-4 days with a battery tender connected. When I realized what had been done the battery was dead, or at least not enough to power up the Koso duel EGT which is switched direct from the battery. after turning the switch to off and charging the battery the bike runs and the power valves work but...with the bike off, if I turn the power valves to high position, when I turn on the ignition the power valves do not return low position, no movement, no noise. They used to just before this incident. My MC18 behaves the same way. Battery has been checked and produces 13 volts without load on it. Have I damaged something???? Sad

I have sorted out this problem. The off/run switch was functioning only intermittently. And largely not making contact (run position) at all. With use it has returned to proper operation. I have not taken it apart to see if the contacts can be accessed to be cleaned yet. I am too busy with more pressing matters.

Good news! It's great when a problem turns out to be something simple... happens a lot! Wink
