Hello everyone I have not found answers in the forum on the possibility 'of being able to use both my card HRC030 that the standard card on pgmIV (wire splice)
What happens if I use the standard card with wire splice mod ??
Will work 'anyway? I can damage pgm... or not
I also saw that some Japanese guys use a switch to change the two cards and how someone has detailed information on how to do?

A bike set up to run with an HRC card runs like crap with a stock card inserted. You will need to change carb [and quite probably, airbox] setup when you change card.
As for a "switchable" spice; yes, it's quite easy to do. _________________ Andy.

There is no link. It's just not hard to do. All the wiresplice is doing is shorting certain wires to earth/ground. Rather than hard solder them, just route them through a switch (or switches -- I've seen someone use 2 switches before, to handle all the wires, but it's rather messy and cumbersome!).
You can see a wiring diagram in the Members section. You will will have to plan it yourself, or take the bike to an electrician.
As I say though, it's pointless, unless you are prepared to change the entire setup every time you flick the switch and insert a different card. The PGM-IV is not as flexible as it was hyped to be, back in 1994.
My advice is, if you have an HRC card/setup, stick with it! If you need an odometer, fit a small unobtrusive LED one suitable for a mountain bike or something. _________________ Andy.

Sounds like good advice it could be a can of worms, experience of others once again will hopefully save a lot of hassle and probably cost.
The PGM4 set up does appeal especially in these high tech., days but as you say it isn't all its cracked up to be, after reading various bits about it I for one will stick to my PGM3 and be square.
I saw a bit about other ecu's on sale but for a non electrically minded person the task of changing seems daunting, it would be much better if there was some way of protecting the PGM from electrical surge and rc valve seizure.
I had planned to look into a number of things this winter but it has ground to a halt as I have just got back home after a long spell in hospital and are currently recuperating after major surgery.
Do you read "Practical Sportsbikes", the January issue shows how to make your own Carbon Fibre reeds.
Your mention of using a bicycle odemeter, I did read that it is possible to use them and it complies with the MOT, as my speedo is defunct at the moment until I am able to sort it out a bike one would do.
There's no denying that the PGM-IV card is trick, but as I say, personally I think it's a case of choose your preferred setup (stock or HRC), and stick with it.
I can understand why it could sometimes be useful to revert to stock, say for a ministry/DOT test in some countries, but for practicality, it just doesn't make sense.
As for the integrated RC Valve circuit on the PGM-II/III/IV, I think if it fails and you DO regularly maintain your valves and cables, then it's just simply "bad luck"! On the whole, the NSR250 electronics are incredibly robust and reliable. _________________ Andy.

Hi Kukkos. Here is a picture of my MC28 with a Trailtech Endurance 2 speedo. Works well. Very easy to install. I used some industrial velcro strips and it stays put no problem. If I ever get around to it I might make up an ally bracket to mount it. The other mount is for my cell phone which I use as a GPS on occasion. I normally don't have that mount on there.
