Had a chance to run my bike on a Dyno for $20 USD (money went to Breast Cancer) ran 57.62HP, is that what I can expect ? I have done most everything except GPS splice. Don't get me wrong I'm happy, but never satisfied. _________________
Different dynos certainly do produce different results, and there has been many an argument about it.
The dyno Fenton's was run on is very consistent, and the operator knows exactly what he is doing when testing 2-strokes, and also has a lot of previous runs and setup data to compare the results with.
My bike has made a consistent 66hp on that dyno (68hp with some wacky pipes) over a couple of years and several runs, but there is no reason why it wouldn't show 62~63hp on the same dyno yours was run on if that's how it is calibrated.
As others have mentioned, the real use of a dyno is to measure % gains and losses after a given modification. The only real way you can evaluate the tune of your bike is to do a completely stock run (which incidentally always showed bang on 45hp at GT Performance) and then another run with the modifications. You should normally be looking at 35~37% increase for the "standard" derestriction modifications. If the dyno reads 5% low for example, then there is nothing wrong with 57.6hp. _________________ Andy.

It was at a local Ducati dealer, not a mobile Dyno & there top mechanic ran it. The owner of the dealership runs a RS250 on the track so I think they no 2 strokes. Threy do this once a year so I will do the GPS wire splice and try again next year. I have all they Tyga stuff & a fresh topend I would just like to break the 60 mark. _________________
They dyno'd my MC21 at Cadwell on Saturday on the dyno that BEMSEE use for the Minitwins/Triumphs/Thunderbikes and it only kicked out 53bhp!! I was told it reads a bit on the low side, but 53?!?
I was gutted, no wonder I get passed by everyone down the straights! Even in F400 I would struggle, never mind against bigger bikes in Thunderbikes.
I think the engine might have to come out to find out whats up
It's a long old way to go for just about anyone, but GT Performance in Plymouth is the only dyno I would trust with an NSR. The dyno operator is the only one I know of that actually owns an NSR (or two), and actually understands them. He is one of probably two people in the UK that knows how to tune them to maximum potential. _________________ Andy.

Chappy, it would have been a Dynapro, which usually read about 10% lower than a Dynojet dyno. Which means your 53hp would be 58.5hp on GT's dyno....which isn't too bad really (depending on what spec the bike is of course).
