kick starter disassembly

On an MC21, once the circlip is removed from the kick starter, how does the kick starter lever separate from the base (or what the parts manual calls the joint kick arm (28302-KV3-830)? I would assume it is supposed just to lift up and off, but mine is not budging, so I'm wondering if there is some other method? (the "kicker' is I had this off once before, and now I can't remember how I did it, which makes me think even more it should just be lifting off Embarassed

seriously, can someone please tell me how these pieces are supposed to come apart? I've removed the circlip but trying to pull the top piece up and out is not working, nor is a fair amount of hitting it with a hammer. Something is buggered or I am totally missing how this is supposed to separate. I want to get the "pin" out so I can add a wave washer to take up some of the slack and keep the lever from wiggling around when riding. Any help appreciated.

There`s a ball bearing and a spring (not a pin) in the lever, that can sometimes stick if it rusts a little, or the grease goes hard. Squirt some 3-in-1 light oil in there.

yeah, I remember the ball bearing and spring from when I had it apart before - you're likely right that it is stuck in there, probably from corrosion - I didn't have any problem getting it apart the first time, which why this has thrown me a bit. I'll try shooting some oil in there and hope for the best. Thanks!
