just got a 21 and i would like to change the tyres. i had 090's on my 400 and was well impressed with them and was wondering wether anyone else runs 090's on their nsr and if their anygood
also my brother has recommended motul 600 i think it is for oil. is this ok for the nsr or do i need some more expensive stuff or even god forbid cheaper?? _________________ If you dont like the way that i ride.....Stop trying to keep up!!!!!
hello mate!
i have 090s on at the moment but i am not relly happy running a 160 section rear when it should really be a 150, i used to run GPR70s on my R and i have used D207GPs as well which are also good so its really up to you i am sure you will get some more replys.
as for oil i used the motul 600 in my R and never had a problem (although there are some motul haters on this forum ) but since i have owned the SP i have used rockoil which so far i have not had a problem with either.

Motul 600 has been my oil of choice for my MC21SP so far. I have also heard good things about Rockoil and Castrol Race2. Are you still using the oil pump or are you premixing?
Try and find out what oil is in there right now. I have heard that if you mix brands of oil, they may congeal . _________________ Jerry Lai

Mate, you seized it in a corner and then killed the crank less than 3000 miles later, if that's no problems then my '28 has been flawless since day one!
It's generally thought of as bad to change brands full stop although all synthetics claim to be able to mix.
Proper size 090's are fine. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I run a 160 section rear, although not an 090, and its fine. However, I do use an 090 front, but a 120, which I dont like, but that just the size, seems fine til you start to lean quite far, then I loose confidence, going to get bigger rims I think as I want to run a 120 / 160 combo.
the gsxr had 120 / 160 but i'm a great beliver of leaving tyre sizes as the manufacturers intended so i'll be putting 150 /110's on it _________________ If you dont like the way that i ride.....Stop trying to keep up!!!!!

.
Tsk TSK see the problem here is lack of infomation.
my R seized on depot corner because the crank locked up absolutley nothing to do with the top end, the R has never seized due to top end problems ever.
so i guess your 28 has been flawless then.

And there was me thinking the bottom end needed oil too. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread

and if you remember the crank had been bodged back with the wrong sized non Honda bearings which led to the seizure.
It had nothing to do with the oil, the same oil that Jams brother ran in his 18, the same oil that Rich ran in his 18 and his KH400 and the same oil that Spen ran in his RGV and none of them had any trouble what so ever. _________________ MC21SP - Roth-tax

Mick! Whats the bike for, if its like MY R and for fun only try some 208GP's FCUKing awsome, the SE im selling has a fresh set (well nearly) of gpr70's there good, but no where near as good as the 208's for feed back and cofidance new there expensive, i managed to get a set from ebay for 50, few and far between but can be found if you wait, else there £230 a set... i also stick to 150 and a 110 i tried a 160 and it slowed the bikes turning down. As for oil ....What was in it before? try and stick with wahts there, but for referrance im using Castrol TTS i have no comment other than i guess its working, Friend uses A747 SMELLS wonderfull but its premix only and should mix on the day your riding.. Hows the bike she looks nice!
for the oil Rory has been using TTS so i think i'll stick to that
as for the bike it needs a little bit of work, nothing major though just chain and sprockets bolt a couple of things back on and a wash, lol _________________ If you dont like the way that i ride.....Stop trying to keep up!!!!!
