Hi guy's for my first post I thought I'd ask a question , I have an MC18 (88 model) and at low revs it pops out of the left hand pipe, bottom cylinder and when the wires are disconnected it doesn't make a difference , it doesn't seem to be firing , when I take the plug out hte plug has weak spark and fires intermitantly.I've tried swapping plugs , coils , and checked the earth wires but it still does it , I can't find anything else that would cause it . Any idea's because I'm stumped .Oh forgot to add it's fine at high revs above 3000 rpm
i think we've had this problem before, if i remember it was traced to the terminals on the wiring to the coils. Do a search of the forum ,i,m sure you'll find it.
Yeah I just finished a couple of hours searching and have come to the conclusion that it's either the carbs need cleaning , crank seal or a bad connection somewhere . When I find out I'll be sure to post it up as most of the threads I found never told of the result .

No carb or seal can do that.
Loose connections in ignition circuit or bad battery/charging. The NSR is very sensible to battery voltage, maybe its just charging that little amount more, when above 3000rpm. _________________ Poul

Ok I've cleaned the carbs , one of the idle jets ( i think ther'e call ) was clogged up . now it's better but still not right so tomorrow I'll change the plugs ( there due anyway ) and replace the battery and see what happens .
Ok I replaced the battery and plugs today now its running properly just needs tweaking to get it perfect , here's something strange it had NGK BR10 ECM plugs in it and apparently they are very hard to find as they aren't very common ?? and the mechanic I went to ( one I actually trust as he used to work on my RGV ) said to put BR9 ECM plugs in it because the 10's would make it hard to start and idle properly ?? strange but it's made a world of difference , maybe it's a climate thing
