Thanks to mat, i reliased i had the pre mix oil adjust set too high/rich. I've adjusted it and went for a spin. It's a lot better, but i was wondering what damage could too much oil cause.
Now i'm believe that the 150 has a catilic converter in the exhaust pipe. Would it have damage it with too much oil?
Another thing could be that the rings have had to cope with so much oil that they may be gummed up.
I will buy a tyga exhaust for it very soon, but i just wanted your opions on this matter. I've done about 400klms since the rebuild with excess oil in pre mix.
Your thoughts? _________________ Unforgivness is the poison we drink hoping the other person will die!
Too much oil can cause a weak air/ fuel ratio, but unless you were jetted on the weak side anyway i can't see it being a problem, in the short term.
As for a cat in the exhaust I've never come across that on a two stroke. Cats hate oil and two stroke exhausts are full of the stuff.
There is indeed a CAT in the NSR150 exhaust system Jeff! The system is unbelievably heavy and restrictive with it.
As you say though, over the short-term, too much oil won't be too bad and will mainly just foul plug(s) and start to make the rings a little sticky, but anything more than a 1000kms and I'd be pulling the top off and at least cleaning everything, including the RC Valve. Sticky RC Valves can cause the controller to burn out on the 250, and there is a possibility it could cause the same problem with the 150. _________________ Andy.

Surely that only applies to premix? An injector system adds the oil after the fuel has been mixed with the incoming air, so I'd have thought the ratio would remain unchanged. You might get slightly less fuel/air mix, but the ratio would be the same. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Actually, too much oil results in a lean condition. You can get a lean seize, but the extra oil might protect you from actually seizing. The cylinder and head temp will likely be very high. Oil injection systems tend to run a tad more oil than needed for safety precautions. To me, the idea of tuning to the gnat's ass to get that last .5 or 1 hp is a risky waste of time. Skip the double cheeseburger and large fries, learn corner speed and keep the bike on the safe side of seizing.
