I use castrol TTS suppose to be a really good oil, my bike's previous owners all used Castrol TTS bike is on 22000km 0 rebuilds _________________ Stock and really slow MC28SE Repsol Rep... =(
Ive tried it. Its ok. Not my top pick for 2 stroke oil, but it certainly will not hurt your bike. I think its better than motul 600 but. _________________ Winning isn't everything, but loosing isn't anything
used it for a while, no problems on track or road, can be used as premix as well, Did your bike just have a ground up rebuild? what oil was it using before? remeber not to mix semi with fully synthetic oils, unless youve just done a complete rebuild.. Cheers
I've used it before with no ill effect.
Everyone says you shouldn't mix oils but as it's "just" airborne in the petrol vapour, hardly under the sort of stress oil in a 4 stroke is and burnt about 1/100th sec later I wouldn't worry about it too much as long as the base oils can be mixed and wont react to each other in the oil res.
It's certainly better to use something cheaper and then change back than nothing at all if caught out somewhere and I've never seen a stroker suffer the same problems as a 4 stroke does if you changed from a mineral to a castor based oil or vise versa*
When I first got my Aprilia I had no idea what I was doing and mixed oils with zero concern, never used the cheapest stuff but anything semi or fully synth went in, it still worked.
*A friend of mine flushed his Castrol R running engine out with normal engine flush and put Castrol R back in again, bottom end started knocking about 15 mins later and when I stripped it down (after I finished laughing at him) there were big blobs of what looked like soild wax in the sump and clogging the oilways. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
I ran Castrol TTS for years, until I got a deal with Rockoil through work. Never had a problem with it, and it smells great!
As Fontyyy says, you won't have any trouble switching from one oil to another, be it forecourt mineral crap (doubtful) to semi to full synthetic. Only castor based oils (A747, HTX etc.) can't be mixed with non-castor based stuff. _________________ Andy.

Raced mine on TTS, and suffered no ill effects from it.
You really mustn't mix mineral and synth oils, but otherwise pretty much anything goes.
You especially shouldn't put mineral oil in a jet engine desinged to run on synthetic... _________________ MC21SP Plaything

Is there something you need to tell us Dave???? _________________ Harley Davidson is the worlds most efficient way to turn petrol into noise without the harmful side effect of horsepower.
A jet engine may be slightly more crucial than your standard petroil engine, but mixing mineral and synthetic in a bike, chainsaw, mower, or go-ped won't hurt... except for the black eye one of us would give you for running mineral oil in an NSR in the first place!! A lot of cheap'n'cheerful forecourt oils are mineral based, and it doesn't matter what and where you mix that stuff.
It's only castor based oils that shouldn't be mixed with anything else - or left to stand for any extended period.
For sure though, semi synthetic (the MINIMUM you should use in an NSR/RGV/TZR/KR1) is fine to mix with fully synthetic, and any brand can be mixed with any other brand, so topping up and then switching to TTS from Motul or any other brand is quite acceptable. Rockoil works fine for me, and if I can't get it, then TTS is my second choice. I have no qualms about topping up my Rockoil Synthesis 2 with Castrol TTS, although now I have a preference I will always try to stick to the one brand. _________________ Andy.

I'm sure things have moved on, but when I worked for Castrol Technology, in pretty much all tests on race engines the A747 came out top, closely followed by TTS. The TTS didn't have quite the mojo of 747 at the top, but was less prone to lacquering up at low rpm and produced less smoke. A good choice for street/trackday bikes.
Like I say, I always used to use TTS until I negotiated a rather large deal with Rockoil for a national company I was working for at the time, and consequently got Synthesis 2 for an exceptionally favourable rate thereafter!
TTS smells great, if nothing else, but I wouldn't hesitate to put it in my NSRs!! _________________ Andy.
